Then after 2003-04, it started using computers at some of its offices to maintain the data as manual maintenance was going out of order. But they were not using any customized solution (customized business software suit) for this purpose instead they were simply using Microsoft Office for maintaining their data and information, wherein they were storing data but the processing was almost negligible because of limited functionality of these applications. Since Tata Consultancy Services has already automated many of the government and non-government organizations with the best of the customized functional solutions in the recent past, the first name that came in the minds of the management of the department was of TCS. After the approval of project proposal against the UAPWDââ¬â¢s RFP in the year 2005, TCS started its primary research for designing the system blue-print for the customized solution. Although TCS has been a trusted name not only in IT solutio ns industry but also for the Uttarakhand Government since it has developed its portal just recently but the kind of challenges that TCS faced during the development and deployment phase of the project were stiff but has always been handled with due care and expertise by TCS.
